Isabel specializes in complex corporate and contractual disputes, domestic and cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters. With more than 18 years of practice in the area, she has extensively advised both debtors and investors in major Brazilian debt restructurings and financial transactions, as well as representing clients involved in intricate in-court and arbitration proceedings.
Isabel is often involved in international practices. She is a Fellow of INSOL International and an active member of committees, having presented and mediated several INSOL seminars. She is a coordinator of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (Brazil Network) in Rio de Janeiro and a board member of the Turnaround Management Association Brazil. Isabel is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute – ABI.
Isabel holds an LL.M degree from Queen Mary, University of London, with a specialization on arbitration and international dispute resolution, and graduated from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Currently, she is a visiting professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas – FGV and an author of several papers on insolvency matters.
